All around the world people use different rituals to initiate their young into adulthood. For example, the Rastafarians use marijuana just before puberty. They say that it binds the group of adolescents. The Surfista (young teen boys) in Rio ride on top of a train ducking overhead rails and wires. Vanuatu boys (Brazil) dive from 50 ft towers with elastic vines tied to a foot just long enough to stop them from crashing (we would call this Bungee jumping). Here at our house we have finally taken a step with our older redneck in training. He has crossed that threshold toward manhood.
He drank Nyquil!
