Herkimer Diamond Mine

On Thursday we took the boys to the Herkimer Diamond Mines. You pay to break open rocks and look for quartz crystals. It was fun, but the only thing you are truly guaranteed to get is blisters! The boys did find some interesting rocks and a few really pretty crystals, but only after they started working harder because my Mom offered them $10 to quit and go to the gift shop to buy a crystal (which I vetoed). Of course we were all hoping to be as lucky as the girl in Arkansas, but we weren't! We did get some cute pictures though...
